Our mission and vision

Hacettepe University Research Priority Areas study was initiated in September 2021 with the aim of establishing our university's institutional research projection for the next 5-year period (2022-2027). The focus is primarily on determining research areas to be prioritized based on competencies.

Within this study: (i) Individual research priorities of researchers are reported, (ii) Departmental and faculty research priorities are determined based on researcher feedback, (iii) University research priorities are compiled based on feedback from academic units.

The Hacettepe University Research Priority Areas Report has been prepared upon completion of these processes. Below is the relevant section pertaining to the Department of Bioinformatics:

  • Importance and Justification

Currently, outputs of molecular studies in both the health sector and life sciences, as well as the food sector, are almost entirely analyzed as big data. In line with this, researchers from our Department conduct numerous projects supported nationally and internationally.
